Week one went well… that is until I woke up on Thursday night/early Friday morning with a HORRIBLE stomach ache. 😦 That being said, I haven’t trained since Wednesday.
Week 1 is supposed to be this:
Monday: walk 5 minutes, jog 2 minutes, walk 5 minutes. That’s it. Gets you off your butt without killing you.
Wednesday: walk 5 minutes, jog 2 minutes, walk 5 minutes.
Friday (the day I skipped thanks to my stomach issues): walk 5 minutes, jog 3 minutes, walk 5 minutes.
Saturday & Sunday: rest.
I had planned to make up my Friday run this weekend, but my stomach had other plans for me. Hopefully this week I’ll be able to run 4 days so I can still make it up and not get behind.
There are three of us at work doing the Survivor Mud Run and we all decided to start training last Monday, all with very different approaches.
One of the girls is one of those crazy “I really love to work out” kinds of people that I don’t really understand. She started off by running 3.5 miles right off the bat. She was pretty sore on Tuesday and I was feeling pretty good about the fact that I had trained but wasn’t in the least bit sore.
The other girl is much more in shape than I am so she started off with the run a mile, walk a mile approach. She said she had not run in several months, but I’m pretty sure she won’t have any problem getting up to running 3.5 miles. Plus, we all discussed that with all the obstacles, it’s not like you’re really running 3.5 miles straight, so that’ll definitely make it easier.
So far so good. Anyone else doing a couch to 5k thing like this?
